Happy New Year

2025 was an ‘annus horribilis’ for (many people in) the world, but luckily not for our band. We started the year with a Livestream Concert featuring completely improvised music. You can still watch the concert here. In January one of our heroes, filmmaker David Lynch, sadly passed away, on our Heroes and Foes album we paid tribute to his TV series Twin Peaks with our track titled Glastonbury Grove. You can listen to it here. We wrote this dreampop song in the spirit of that small town in the woods. In February, after his passing, we were invited by New York filmmaker Edward Osredkar to participate in a talk show about the film director we admire. We joined film director and actor Andrew Vandaele and filmmaker and composer Alberto Bellavia for the discussion. We thoroughly enjoyed taking part! Watch it here.

We also gave a well-attended live concert in February for an incredibly enthusiastic audience at the IJsselhuis in Gouda, as part of the Gluren bij de Buren festival—definitely worth repeating, and we sold several cd’s after this event. In the Spring Our Senta music video was selected from hundreds of submissions for the finals and screening at the renowned Austin Micro Film Festival in the USA. This was already the third film festival for which Senta has been chosen. The previous two festivals took place in ’24 in Holland: The Hague Film Festival and the Night of the Short Film (Nacht van de Korte Film). Senta was directed by filmmaker Lars Smetsers and his fantastic team. The lead roles in the short film are played by Andrew Vandaele and Tanya Shpadi.  Senta was also selected for screening on the International Film Festival Barcelona in Spain later in 2025. This was already the second international film festival where our music video was chosen, and, until now, on top of that two Dutch film festivals screened our video as well. In May, June and July we also gave several succesful concerts at very nice venues in Amsterdam, Gemert and Roosendaal, plus another online Livestream Concert with completely improvised music. You can watch the online concert here:

In the summer we’ve been working on writing lyrics for our new songs. We’re currently in the middle of recording these songs. You can find some photos of the studio work here and here. During the autumn and winter we kept on writing, rehearsing, recording and also booking new concerts. During the last weeks of December we kept on rehearsing our songs for our upcoming concerts in January. And we’re putting the finishing touches to our brand new ‘TV Tower’ song. We decided to wait with the release of this song until one of our other new songs (working title ‘Task completed’) has been recorded and mixed as well, then we’ll have a new small EP. We’re afraid that ‘TV Tower’ is a bit too experimental and weird for a single release, it’s more of an albumtrack. It’s not a radio friendly song, so to say, while our other new song is a bit more accessible.

We’re also in the last days of the Snob 2000 on Pinguin Radio. We reached position 306 (from 434!) in the Snob 2000 with our Nightporter song on Pinguin Radio! We also reached position 470 with our version of New Dawn Fades, position 844 with our collab-song (with Dizzy PandaBite My Tongue and position 1072 (from 1558) with our Moon song! We’re very grateful for the many votes for our songs from our friends, fans and colleagues! Thank you! 🙂

In 2026 we have a good start, with three live concerts in January, one in February and one in March (until now). Our first live concert will be on January 11th, and this will be an exciting, free Livestream Concert again, with fully improvised music. We also recommend our Leiden and Bunker concerts this January. On top of that we’re working on a new EP, to be released in the first half of 2026. And we already wrote enough new songs for a completely new album, so we’re working on that one too. We expect to release our fifth album in 26/27.

We wish you a wonderful 2026 and hope that it will be a better year for you and for the world. And please don’t do (Gen-) AI and don’t invest your money in it. It’s a curse for real musicians like us and sooner or later the AI-bubble will burst anyway.
