We have a good start in 2026, with three live concerts in January, one in February (in Moordrecht), one in March (in Amstelveen) plus a concert in April (Amsterdam). Our first live concert was on January 11th, and this was an exciting Livestream Concert again, with fully improvised music on analogue synths, sequencers, grand piano, bass & vocals. We also recommend our Leiden (Saturday evening 1/24, 9:30 PM) and Bunker concerts (Tuney Thursday 1/29) this January. On top of that we’re working on a new EP, to be released in the first half of 2026. And we already wrote enough new songs for a completely new album, so we’re working on that one too. We expect to release our fifth album in 26/27. Perhaps we’ll see you on one of our upcoming concerts! Watch the best part of our previous Livestream Impro Concert of last week here:
Concerts and EP-recordings
🌲Xmas, Snob 2000, concerts & new songs📻
It’s already December, time to listen to the Snob 2000 on Pinguin Radio 🐧📻 (we keep our fingers crossed and keep you updated about the results), Xmas holidays (for some of us) and reflection. During the last weeks of December we keep on rehearsing our songs for our upcoming concerts in January. And we’re putting the finishing touches to our brand new ‘TV Tower’ song. We decided to wait with the release of this song until one of our other new songs (working title ‘Task completed’) has been recorded and mixed as well, then we’ll have a small EP. We’re afraid that ‘TV Tower’ is a bit too experimental and weird for a single release, it’s more of an albumtrack. It’s not a radio friendly song, so to say, while our other new song is a bit more accessible.
We also curated this small December Playlist for you, with a selection of Chabliz-songs with an end-of-the-year mood. And for the people who love Xmas vibes: this is our Imitating Angels music video. This (quite accessible) rocksong is already eleven years old but we share it every Xmas time. (The little angel is a young lady now). We wish you a nice and safe end of the year!
Update: We reached position 306 (from 434!) in the Snob 2000 with our Nightporter song on Pinguin Radio! We also reached position 470 with our version of New Dawn Fades, position 844 with our collab-song (with Dizzy Panda) Bite My Tongue and position 1072 (from 1558) with our Moon song! 🙂 We’re so grateful for the many votes for our songs from our friends, fans and colleagues! Thank you!

The Snob 2000
It’s time again to vote Chabliz into the Snob 2000! The Snob 2000 is the little sister of the famous Dutch Top 2000. It’s actually his alternative, somewhat snobbish sister, who likes more alternative, experimental and underground/indie music. And you can vote for Chabliz’ songs there! But why should you do that? Well, our songs are played on Pinguin Radio and they will be added to the Snob 2000 playlists. It generates lots of airplay for us, and above all, we reach new listeners. Every year that we’re in the Snob 2000 new people discover our music, thanks to your votes. It takes you only a few minutes and it’s nice to do. And of course we’re most grateful to you! The last voting day is Monday, December 1. After that day the votes will be counted. The Snob 2000 will be broadcasted from Dec. 18 until December 31.

Also, our new song ‘TV Tower’ is on the mixing table right now! It’s almost ready and will be released soon. In January we will give three concerts; two live concerts in Leiden and Gemert and one online livestream concert near Rotterdam. In December and January we also work on new songs for our next album.
New songs
Chabliz is working on several brand new songs at the moment. One of them is ‘TV Tower.’ The keys and vocals are already recorded, now all that’s left is the bass. We hope to release the song soon. Yesterday, our singer wrote new lyrics for a song whose music is almost finished. Meanwhile, we’re working in the rehearsal room on rehearsing a whole bunch of new songs. We’re looking forward to the new EP!

Senta selected for the Austin Micro Film Festival
Our Senta music video has been selected from hundreds of submissions for screening at the renowned Austin Micro Film Festival. This is already the third film festival for which Senta has been chosen. The previous two festivals took place in Holland last year: The Hague Film Festival and the Night of the Short Film (Nacht van de Korte Film). We’re very happy that our video is now also being shown by an international film festival. Senta was directed by filmmaker Lars Smetsers and his fantastic team. The lead roles in the short film are played by Andrew Vandaele and Tanya Shpadi.
The jury report states: ‘The music video for ‘Senta‘ is both engaging and heartbreaking. It effectively portrays the struggles of alcohol abuse, capturing the cycle of suffering, attempted recovery, and relapse in a compelling way. The storyline is particularly strong – the protagonist losing his job and turning to alcohol is a relatable and emotionally resonant arc that keeps viewers invested from start to finish. The video does a great job of grounding this narrative in reality, making it both powerful and thought-provoking. Overall, ‘Senta‘ is a well-crafted music video with a strong emotional core, delivering an impactful message about addiction and its challenges.’
‘The music truly makes this film stand out.’
‘This was an excellent film with truly magnificent shot selection – the visuals were captivating and clearly crafted with care. Each frame had a strong cinematic presence that helped set the tone and atmosphere beautifully. There were a few scenes that felt like they lingered a bit too long, which slightly slowed the momentum, but once things picked up, the music blended perfectly with the visuals. That combination really helped pull everything together and gave the film a strong emotional rythm. I think adding subtitles would be a smart move, it could help the viewer stay engaged and better follow the story, especially during quieter moments. Despite those small areas for improvement, this film left a strong impression. Outstanding work – there’s a lot of power in what you’ve created here.’
Update April 26: We’re thrilled to share that a few days ago, we received the exciting news that ‘Senta‘, together with five other music videos, has made it to the finals of the ‘Best Music Video Award‘! Fingers crossed we’ll be bringing home gold, silver, or bronze…
Update May: We didn’t win, but we’re proud of the fact that we made it to the finals!
