We wish you a happy 2023!

We wish you a beautiful and healthy 2023! This year started well for us with a good review in the ‘Muziekwereld,’ a Dutch printed music magazine. Also, we reached our highest position ever in the yearly Snob 2000 with our Nightporter song, which reached position 300 in the last days of December. This year we entered the Snob 2000 with three songs; our newest entry is New Dawn Fades, which reached position 1122, and the other entry (Moon) reached position 862. And that’s all thanks to your votes for our songs. Thank you very much for that!

2022 was an interesting year for all of us. The year started with corona, our singer was in isolation in the study room for two weeks because she had corona, just like many others. Nevertheless we gave a zoom interview with all three bandmembers to Flo from KMS reviews. Our just released New Dawn Fades song entered the Dutch Indie Advice List and the Top 40 of For the love of music. We also reached the nineth position of Pinguin radio’s Streamsonic event on ESNS. It became February and the war in Ukraine started, and together with that a new cold war and inflation in Europe. But life goes on and musicians will always make music. We gave concerts on festivals (Gluren bij de Buren, Gouda Leeft and the Knapsack Festival) and also several Livestream Concerts, one of them on Composers Day. In the mean time we worked hard on our new album. In May was the release party of the beautiful ‘Cancelled’ book, a book with pictures of and interviews with Dutch artists like Francis van Broekhuizen, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Michael Varekamp, Simone Kleinsma, Karin Bloemen and many more. And us.

During the summer holidays something bad happened; our albums were removed from Spotify, Apple Music and several other platforms because our old aggregator was shut down, taking innocent bands with them in their decline. We had to put them all over again on the platforms with a new agregator and were silenced for more than a month because of this mismanagement by a company. Luckily we were back on the platfoms after five weeks of silence. October however was a great month for us, our brand new album Heroes and Foes was released, both physical (as a good old CD) as on the music platforms like Spotify, Apple music, Bandcamp and all the others. We celebrated our new album with a well-visited live album release concert in the beautiful Barthkapel in the centre of The Hague. We were surprised that so many people bought the physical CD, but perhaps that was also because of the beautiful artwork by David Gosker and Kalipluche. Last summer we also recorded a beautiful live string trio for our single Wings of the Night, which we released in December. This single was played a.o. on Pinguin Pluche and KRO-NCRV’s Volgspot Radio, with a radio interview. In December we also gave an interview to the Dutch AD newspaper and a Livestream concert for the people (abroad and in Holland) who missed our albumrelease concert. During the last months of 2022 we also received several beautiful album reviews.

In 2023 we work on new songs and music videos. Actually we already wrote a few new songs, which aren’t recorded yet. In February we’ll release an updated ‘Making of’ video of our new ‘Heroes and Foes’ album. In February we’ll also play live on the ‘Gluren bij de Buren’ festival again, this time in Gouda. And we’ll give more live concerts and livestreams. Keep an eye on our concerts pages for updates. Our next livestream concert will be quite interesting: more synths AND we’ll give a live improvisation show with live jams. In 2023 we also hope to release a new EP or one or more new singles. We wish you lots of inspiration and good music for 2023, and hopefully this year will be a better year, with more peace and less violence and poverty in Europe and the rest of the world.

Pim, Marcel & Petra.
