Screamin’jay Hawkins Tribute rescheduled

We are pleased to inform you that our Screamin’Jay Hawkins Tribute is rescheduled to February 12, 13 and 14, 2014.
Now we have time enough to make it the truly memorable performance that we have in mind. February 12 is the date that SJ Hawkins deceased. February 14 it’s Valentines Day.

De Hommel

Saturday we played a live concert at
Muziekcafé de Hommel
in Vlaardingen. De Hommel is a very nice place, with a great atmosphere and a good audience. Visitors from De Hommel are real music lovers and interested in different kinds of music. It was a real pleasure to play at De Hommel !

Happy christmas

We all wish you a happy christmas !

We are having a few days off to celebrate christmas with our families. The days before and after christmas we spend on the preparations of our Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Tribute: ” I put a spell on you “.
At 12 and 14 February Chabliz will perform this very special Tribute performance in The Hague, Holland.

Our next concert will be at January 5, in De Hommel in Vlaardingen.
( near Rotterdam). We also rehearsed for this concert a few days ago.

Sellaband fundraising for Screamin’Jay Hawkins Tribute

Today we dare it: we started a Sellaband fundraising/ crowdfunding project, raising the funds for our Screamin’Jay Hawkins Tribute: “Because you’re mine” (more info about this project you find below).
To get this project off the ground we need some funding, for covering the costs for the performance. Tickets will be 10,- euro’s, and the revenue from the ticketsales won’t be enough to cover all the costs: hiring the chapel and theatre, rehearsal rooms, PA system, sound and light engineer, stage manager, PR, etcetera.

Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Tribute: ” Because you’re mine”.

At 12-02-2013 it’s exactly 13 years ago that Screamin’Jay Hawkins deceased. At this day, and also at 14-02-2013, Valentines Day, we will play his evergreen “I put a spell on you” 13x in 13 different versions in an old chapel in The Hague. Underneath a little movie about this whole project: ( this little movie – three minutes- is in Dutch and is made by Caroline Ros, Roland Meyer and Petra de Winter):

Gorinchem

It was a nice and cosy atmosphere at grand café Soestdijk in Gorinchem, where we played together with several singer-songwriters last Sunday afternoon. René and Petra were both ill (flu, cold, throat infection and more) , but nevertheless: they played ! The music from Chabliz was slightly different from the music that’s usually played over there, but the people enjoyed it nevertheless. Nice place ! Concerts

We had a great time last sunday evening at JW in Rotterdam. We played right after singer-songwriters Lee-Leet and Catself who both sang like angels. Lee-Leet was also accompanied by a great drummer. The audience was very good and enthousiastic about all three acts. We all sold some albums and had a great evening.

This sunday afternoon we will play a semi-acoustic, unplugged concert together with David Savage in grand cafe Soestdijk in Gorinchem. Check our concerts-page for more details.
